Mike Pehl is passionate about the issue of teenage driving safety. DriveSafeRideSafe is a team committed to his goal of reducing tragedies on the roads.
Mike’s expertise is unique, with a career that includes years as a crash investigator, independent field research into novice driver training while an insurance agent, and a superior track-record teaching thousands of young drivers for the last few decades.
Mike knows that just classroom time does not create good drivers. Smart, safe practice is what teenagers need.
DriveSafeRideSafe created our first product, “Roadworthy” specifically for that purpose, because we believe better driving practice with parents can make a difference in the skills, and the lives, of our young drivers.
Two curriculum DVD’s for instructors are our newest contributions towards the goal of helping create Smarter Drivers, Safer Roads.
A word about our organization’s philosophy and structure:
The non-profit world is crowded with organizations competing for grant money, and there will always be a limited number of donors for good causes.
We don’t want to compete with that.
We want to contribute.
Our team’s specific combination of skills gives us the ability to create valuable training resources that we can make available at a reasonable cost.
We are committed to that effort.
We believe creating resources like “Roadworthy” and our curriculum DVD’s lets us work towards the goal of creating smarter drivers and safer roads in the best way that WE can.
It also lets us support our friends and partner organizations in the non-profit sector, such as the Shreya Dixit Foundation, and the Minnesota family who lost a son to carbon monoxide poisoning.
We consider ourselves the partners of all those motivated to prevent unnecessary tragedies on the road.
Sincerely, Jayne, kelly & Mike
